Rites of Passage Programs: Boys and Men

Pathways to Manhood: A contemporary, community based Rite of Passage for boys, 13-15 yo and their fathers or a mentor, 5 or 6 day bush camp. Mothers are supported by experienced women facilitators.
 
YoungStars: A fun, adventure filled, camping weekend that celebrates the boys' (6-10 yo) relationship with their fathers or a mentor.
 
Men's Leadership Training: A unique, program that provides opportunities to deepen leadership qualities in a range of environments including ongoing involvement as a Rites of Passage Leader on Pathways programs.  
 
The Rite Journey: Successful national and international school based Rites of Passage program. Website: www.theritejourney.com.au Running in schools in Australia and NZ. Based in SA. Contact Andrew 0432 603 655. Rite of Passage program for boys and girls which is designed for year 9 students. The program runs for the whole of the school year and includes a mentoring component.
 
Tracks Trust: Has Offered Rites of Passage programs in NZ since 2002. Based in Takaka, Golden Bay. Website: www.tracks.net.nz email: info@tracks.net.nz Ph: 64-3-525 8778. Phase one: is a 5 day program. Second phase return as Young Leader to complete Rite of Passage. Mothers supported by experienced women. Good Men Making Tracks: 2 day men’s program and the way to become involved in becoming a Tracks leader. Registered charity.

  • Schoolies is not a Rite of Passage

    Schoolies can be a very well deserved celebration at its best, and at its worst it can be a week long, peer driven rampage. Sometimes schoolies is referred to as a Rite of Passage, it is not a Rite of Passage and it will never be a Rite of Passage because children cannot initiate children into adulthood, they can only initiate themselves deeper into childishness.
